Yoenis Cespedes denies plunking to blame for current slump

Yoenis Cespedes fears nothing - not even death.

And the Mets' slugger made that clear Sunday when addressing his recent 0-for-17 slump, the bulk of which has come after he was hit by a pitch Tuesday against the Marlins.

"I know that some of you may be thinking that it has something to do with when I got hit by the pitch. It's nothing to do with that. There's really no specific reason, and the only thing I'm scared of is death," Cespedes said through a translator to laughter from reporters.
