Of all that was said about Matt Harvey over the past week, one quote stuck with me above all others. Here's pitching coach Dave Eiland talking to Matt Ehalt of The Record on Saturday:
"If he wants to be on this team, he has to do what's asked of him to help this team win. If he wants to continue his career, he's going to have to go out and pitch, and pitch well."
If he wants to be on this team?
Eiland slid that in, but it's a significant phrase. I'm told that the new coaching staff has far less patience for Harvey than the previous regime -- but really, you don't need sources to know that.
