Wild Card Review: How the Mets’ competitors have fared over the past week

Having won seven games in a row, the Mets are only a half-game out of the third Wild Card spot in the National League as Major League Baseball’s relatively light slate of Thursday games gets underway today. And when they wake up tomorrow, they’ll either be tied with or one game back of Atlanta for that third spot.

That’s not the only spot that’s up for grabs, though, as the Mets have pulled within 3.5 games of the Padres and 3.0 games of the Diamondbacks. With both of those teams playing this evening, the Mets will be 3-to-4 games back of San Diego spot and 2.
