LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Juan Lagares impressed Mets brass by arriving to camp in fine physical shape and now is letting his play talk.
The outfielder, who had been sidelined in recent days because of a dental issue, returned to the lineup and went 2-for-2 with a walk in the Mets’ 5-4 exhibition loss to the Braves.
“He walked in, he was in tremendous shape,” manager Terry Collins said. “I think it’s a tribute to him, the way he’s gone about things. He’s having a good spring and he’s bound and determined to show us he belongs back in the lineup.
