White Sox, Orioles emerge as front runners to land Cespedes

The White Sox and Orioles have emerged as the leaders to land free agent OF Yoenis Cespedes, while the Angels, Rangers and Giants have expressed interest, according to Aaron Gleeman of NBC Sports (Dec. 29).

Gleeman expects Cespedes to receive offers exceeding $100 million.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported that the Mets will not be re-signing Cespedes (Dec. 24).

The Mets reached out to Cespedes about a two- or three-year deal earlier this offseason but never named a price, Heyman reported. Cespdes is said to be seeking a five- or six-year deal.
