It's all eyes on Ben Zobrist, as far as the Mets go. He is their top target this offseason, after the team met with him in Queens last week, Mets assistant GM John Ricco recently said.
Zobrist is scheduled to meet with the Nationals Tuesday afternoon, after which it was reported he will make a quick decision about where to play next.
In an effort to convince myself this is a good move, I've spent the last day talking with MLB insiders and two former teammates about Zobrist. They all say he's very a poised player, who is consistently working on his game.
