What’s going on with the Mets’ six-man rotation?

The Mets transitioned to their six-man starting rotation on Wednesday night, with Dillon Gee stepping in and allowing seven runs (four earned) in four innings of work. And that might be the end of the strict six-man rotation.

After the game, Terry Collins said that the Mets might skip Gee the next time through the rotation so that Matt Harvey can pitch on five days rest instead of six (due to the upcoming off day). While Collins floated it as a possibility, he wouldn’t confirm it since he didn’t want to make a headline.
