Walker feels healthy, says he's had extension talks with Mets

Mets INF Neil Walker has had talks with the Mets about extending his contract, he said on Wednesday in Port St. Lucie.

"We've had some discussions but nothing has come to fruition," Walker said. "There's no other place that I'd want to be. ...Nothing has come to fruitiion just yet. That doesn't mean something won't happen."

Walker, 31, accepted a one-year, $17.2 million qualifying offer to return to the Mets for 2017, after which he will again be a free-agent looking to sign a multi-year deal.

"This was my first choice going into the offseason, so it worked out the way I wanted to," he explained about returning to the Mets.
