The Mets have placed C Travis d'Arnaud on the 10-day DL due to a partial UCL tear in his right elbow, the team announced Wednesday.
Treatment options for d'Arnaud, including potential surgery, will be determined in the coming days.
C Tomas Nido has been called up from Double-A Binghamton to take d'Arnaud's place on the roster.
The 29-year-old d'Arnaud, who has not played the last two games, has three hits (including one HR) in 15 at-bats this season. He has been splitting time with Kevin Plawecki in what the Mets hoped would be an effective platoon this season.
