CHICAGO — The Cubs were pounding out lopsided victories and squeezing out tight games while putting together their longest winning streak of the season.
Todd Frazier brought it to a screeching halt. Even so, the Cubs weren’t complaining.
Frazier hit a grand slam and drove in a season-high five runs to lead the Mets to a 10-3 victory over Chicago on Wednesday, avenging a tough loss earlier in the day.
The Cubs had won a season-high seven in a row after pulling out a 2-1 victory earlier Wednesday on Ben Zobrist’s R.B.I. single with the bases loaded in the 11th.
