The veteran third baseman hit a fly ball against Mark Melancon in the eighth inning that just kept going, igniting a four-run inning that sent the Mets to a second straight victory, 7-3 over the Giants at Citi Field.
On a day the Mets hit three homers, Frazier’s two-run shot was the biggest. It continued a sizzling stretch by Frazier, who entered 13-for-40 (.325) over his previous 11 games.
Juan Lagares’ RBI double and Jeff McNeil’s run-scoring single provided a cushion for Jeurys Familia, who pitched a perfect ninth.
