TiqIQ.com says Mets, Yankees tickets are more expensive in 2016

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The high level of anticipation for the 2016 New York baseball season comes at a price.

According to TiqIQ.com, which monitors the secondary ticket market, the average asking price for Mets home games this season as of Friday was $107.87, up 3.26 percent from this time last year and up from $83.63 in 2012. It is the fifth-highest average in the major leagues.

The three most expensive games at Citi Field this season are $296.34 for the Mike Piazza number retirement on July 30, $288.27 for the home opener on April 8 and $236.
