CHICAGO — For Pete’s sake, that is impressive.

Needing only 77 games to break a franchise record that had stood for almost 36 years, Pete Alonso keeps churning out homers.

Alonso swatted homer No. 27 on Sunday to break Darryl Strawberry’s team rookie record, but the Mets lost 5-3 to the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

“I’m proud of it, but I wish we would have won today,” said Alonso, who hit a solo blast against Cole Hamels in the fourth inning that gave the Mets their first run. “It was a tough loss today.
