Jacob deGrom doesn’t have a new agent yet. But he’s willing to negotiate a contract extension with his old one.
The Mets’ ace and likely Cy Young award winner is still coming to grips with the strange situation he finds himself in now that former agent Brodie Van Wagenen is the team’s general manager.
“I think anybody is open to an extension if it’s right for you and your family,” deGrom said in an interview with MLB.com. “Nothing is guaranteed in this game until you sign that deal or hit free agency and sign a deal there.
