Michael Conforto would like to think he’s back to normal at the plate.
The Mets outfielder may have entered Tuesday only 1-for-15 on the homestand, but two doubles to left field for him were a positive sign in the Mets’ 7-1 victory over the Yankees at Citi Field.
Conforto’s RBI double ignited a four-run seventh for the Mets against Masahiro Tanaka.
“I feel like I’m staying through the ball,” Conforto said. “And there have been a lot of good signs the last couple of days, so it has been fun.”
On Monday, Conforto doubled against CC Sabathia for his first hit against a lefty since May 11.
