The New York Mets are officially out of playoff contention. The Brewers defeated the Reds 9-2 on Wednesday, meaning the Mets organization is forced to look on to 2020.
One of the concerns the ballclub will have to take care of heading into next season is at the manager position. Does Mickey Callaway stay? He’s under contract next year, and the Mets did improve in the second half of the year. However, this organization was viewed internally as a playoff-type ballclub. So does that give the Brodie Van Wagenen-led front office reason to send Callaway packing?
