Struggling Mets set to host Braves for four games amid stifling heat

Having finally stopped their losing streak at seven games with a big night in Philadelphia on Saturday, the Mets (46-32) lost the series finale last night and find themselves one game back of the Phillies (47-31) for first place in the National League East. It’s the second time this season that the Mets have let a five-game lead over the Phillies evaporate. And now, the Mets are set to host the Braves (35-41), who swept them in a three-game series last week in Atlanta, for a four-game set that begins tonight at Citi Field.

Just about everything is going wrong for the Mets since Kodai Senga suffered a hamstring injury on June 12.
