Sean-Reid Foley released by Mets

The Mets are saying goodbye to a surprisingly long-tenured member of their organization today, as the club has released reliever Sean-Reid Foley.

Reid-Foley has been with the Mets since 2021 and had stints with the major league club in each of the past four seasons prior to this one. While he did have success in small doses during his various times in the big league bullpen—often buoyed by a high strikeout rate—he struggled to remain consistent and healthy during his tenure. He underwent Tommy John surgery in 2022 and more recently suffered through shoulder problems that resulted in him not pitching in the majors last season after June.
