If you can take a step back for a second and look at the whole picture, Sandy Alderson has done a decent job as GM of the Mets. If Travis d'Arnaud can ever stay healthy, the Dickey for Syndergaard/d'Arnaud trade can turn out to be one of the biggest steals in baseball history.
Beltran for Wheeler was a great deal as well, and if Michael Conforto or Brando Nimmo ever work out, well, Sandy has done well to build up the farm system.
His free agent signings have been awful, and his refusal to even consider Wally Backman as manager drives us crazy.
