BOCA RATON, Fla. — Sandy Alderson will undergo what Mets assistant general manager John Ricco termed a “medical procedure” in New York this week that will preclude him from attending the GM Meetings.
The 67-year-old Alderson passed out while answering questions from reporters last week at Citi Field, but Ricco declined to say if Alderson’s medical procedure was related to the incident.
Alderson, according to Ricco, planned to have the procedure after the season ended, but it kept getting rescheduled because of the club’s postseason run that ended with a loss to the Royals in the World Series.
