Run support missing in deGrom's quality start

PITTSBURGH -- Despite entering Saturday with the best ERA in Major League Baseball, Jacob deGrom had recorded just two wins since the start of May. The lack of run support that has plagued deGrom for much of the past two months continued against the Pirates at PNC Park on Saturday night.

deGrom allowed three earned runs over seven innings for his 13th consecutive quality start, but the right-hander's outing was overshadowed by a lack of run support as the Mets fell to the Pirates, 5-0.

After cruising through five scoreless innings and opening the sixth with back-to-back strikeouts, deGrom surrendered a single to Gregory Polanco.
