Robinson Cano leaves Mets game with leg injury

Second baseman Robinson Cano exited Wednesday’s game against the Nationals in the third inning after attempting to run out a ground ball. He left the game due to left quad tightness according to Steve Gelbs and was replaced by Adeiny Hechavarria.

Before coming out of the contest, Cano went hitless in both of his at-bats. This season, the 36-year-old has been hitting .244/.291/.375 with three home runs in his first year with the Mets. He owns a lifetime .303/.353/.491 line

Available options on the major league club right now include Jeff McNeil and Hechavarria, although McNeil is currently dealing with a leg injury himself.
