Report: Yankees have no interest in Matt Harvey

The Yankees have no interest in offering Matt Harvey a second chance in New York, according to Bob Klapisch. The report says that the team believes Yankee Stadium is too home-run friendly for a pitcher like Harvey.

Harvey has endured an abysmal two seasons before being designated for assignment on Friday. In 2017, Harvey had a 6.70 ERA in 92.2 innings, with 67 strikeouts.

In 27 innings this season, he owns a 7.00 ERA with 21 earned runs allowed on 33 hits -- six of which have been homers.

Harvey, who missed the entire 2014 season after having Tommy John surgery, returned to form in 2015 before attempting to pitch through Thoracic Outlet Syndrome in 2016.
