The Mets will sign 1B Adrian Gonzalez pending a physical, reports Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
Nightengale had reported earlier that the Mets were engaged in "serious discussions" to acquire 1B Adrian Gonzalez,
The Mets reached out to Gonzalez following his release from the Braves in December, ESPN's Buster Olney reported at the time. Gonzalez was traded from the Dodgers to the Braves in December, but was designated for assignment following the trade.
Gonzalez, who plagued by a back injury last season, hit .242 with three home runs and 30 RBIs in 71 games for the Dodgers in 2017.
