The contract details for Jose Reyes' re-signing with the Mets have been reported. On top of his base salary of $2 million, Reyes can earn another $600,000, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports. For instances, he will earn $100,000 if he wins World Series MVP.
More likely for Reyes, he'll earn $250,000 if he makes 500 plate appearances. On top of that, $50,000 bonuses will be triggered if any of the following are reached: All-Star game, Gold Glove, Silver Slugger, MVP and NLCS MVP.
Reyes, 34, hit .246/.315/.413 with 15 HR, 25 doubles, seven triples, 24 stolen bases, 75 runs scored, and 58 RBI for the Mets in 145 games last season while primarily playing third base and shortstop.
