NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Despite a lost weekend in which they were swept by the Pirates at Citi Field, the Mets remain 4 1/2 games ahead of the struggling Nationals in the National League East.
New York dropped three straight from Friday-Sunday, but didn’t lose any ground in the division as Washington couldn’t get out of its own way in San Francisco.
The Nationals won’t lose forever, and the Mets need to get back on track in a hurry.
It appears that captain David Wright will help them do so in the coming days.
