Turns out that one of Pete Alonso’s biggest fans works in the Bronx.
Aaron Judge recently told The Post that during the Subway Series at Citi Field he was quick to praise Alonso at first base because of the phenomenal rookie season Alonso is putting together for the Mets.
Big hitters appreciate other big hitters.
When asked about the conversation, Alonso said it was thrilling to hear such praise from the Yankees superstar, who blasted a rookie record 52 home runs in 2017. Alonso will carry 37 home runs into the Mets’ key three-game series with the Nationals beginning Friday night at Citi Field
“He said I hope you beat my record,” Alonso told The Post of that conversation.
