Parnell, Black pitch an inning to start rehab stints

Relievers Bobby Parnell and Vic Black each pitched an inning Tuesday as they began their rehab stints at Class A St. Lucie.

Parnell pitched a scoreless first inning, allowing two hits with one strikeout and no walks. Adam Rubin reported the radar gun had Parnell in the 90-91 mph range, hitting 93 and 95 on two-strike counts and two sliders at 83-84 mph (April 14). with a 93 and a 95 in two-strike counts and threw two slliders at 83-84 mph.

Black gave up a solo homer on a two-strike fastball in the second with two strikeouts and two walks.
