The MLB draft is finally upon us. Over the next two days, teams will select the next wave of professional talent over 20 rounds after draft picks. The Mets will have picks 38 and 102 tonight.

It’s going to be a somewhat challenging draft for the Mets, who find themselves with the second smallest draft pool this year at $5,485,900. That’s a result of spending beyond the second tax threshold, moving their 1st round pick back from 28 to 38. They also lost their second round pick for signing Juan Soto, as well as the compensation pick they would’ve received when Luis Severino signed with the Athletics.
