It’s never a good sign when your day begins with news that your catcher, rehabbing a broken finger, is shut down with an “unrelated bone bruise” in his wrist, and your third baseman got injected with a long needle. And then just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, there was the news that Keith Hernandez had surgery on his arm:
