New York Mets setup man Jeurys Familia has been placed on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder soreness. The move was announced Wednesday by Mets manager Mickey Callaway and reported by several sources, including Greg Joyce of the New York Post.
Callaway added Familia received a cortisone shot and underwent an MRI. Save for a bone spur of which the team was already aware, the results were described as “fairly clean.”
Mets GM Brodie van Wagenen added he did not feel Familia’s injury would not be a long-term issue.
