Edwin Diaz was caught off guard when he was sent from the Seattle Mariners to the New York Mets. He wasn’t expecting to go anywhere, but that’s baseball and he’s at peace with it.
“I was expecting to be with (the Mariners) because they told me they would not trade me,” Diaz said early Wednesday morning at the Mets spring training complex per Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News. “I got surprised when they called me and I got traded to the Mets. But I take that as a positive.
