The New York Mets have been linked to just about every high-profile free agent pitcher available. At some point in the winter, they were interested in Jake Odorizzi, Tomoyuki Sugano, Corey Kluber, and lots more. They are still reportedly in on Trevor Bauer, and now, they have their eye on potential bounceback candidate.
The word out there, according to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, is that the New York Mets are one of a handful of clubs interested in free agent reclamation project Mike Foltynewicz, who has really struggled in both 2019 and 2020 but was very good as recently as 2018.
