New York Mets, Marcus Stroman get positive news after MRI on his sore left hip; Michael Conforto back from IL

An MRI on New York Mets right-hander Marcus Stroman's left hip showed "no significant issues," a team spokesman said Wednesday, according to MLB.com.

He is considered day-to-day.

Mets manager Luis Rojas said Wednesday that Stroman is optimistic he can make his next start but wouldn't go that far, himself.

"This guy, he's a warrior. He's got a big heart. He thinks he can do everything, even when he's limited. But I think right now the smart thing is to get treated today and get some soreness out," Rojas said. "The day off tomorrow helps for his next time to pitch and that's probably why he's optimistic, but right now we we want to work with him and get him the treatment that he needs to get that out of the way.
