According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, the New York Mets optioned Robert Gsellman to Triple A, and have called up Seth Lugo.
Gsellman has been optioned to Las Vegas for Lugo.
Less than two weeks ago, Mets GM Sandy Alderson made it clear that Gsellman needed to pitch better. Instead of agreeing with him, Gsellman said that he didn’t care.
After apologizing to Alderson, Gsellman continued to struggle on Saturday, surrendering nine hits and six runs (two earned) over just four innings of work.
