New York Mets coaching staff undergoes a major overhaul

The New York Mets aren’t firing Mickey Callaway and they will keep pitching coach Dave Eiland for at least another year. Those two high-profile Mets coaches were the subject of many 2018 storylines involving this ball club. They should, again, headline many other tales in 2019.

As for the rest of the staff, there were major changes in Brodie Van Wagenen’s first full week as the general manager. After what we can assume was a quiet Sunday, Van Wagenen and his team decided to make significant moves.

Hitting coach Pat Roessler won’t be back after a year in which the offense struggled mightily.
