The Nationals failed to acquire a closer this past winter, and they've seemingly made no steps toward resolving the issue this spring training.
"We haven't really discussed it at any length," the team's manager Dusty Baker recently told the Washington Post's Chelsea Janes.
This past winter, the Nationals reportedly tried to sign Greg Holland, Aroldis Chapman, Kenley Jansen, and Mark Melancon, all of whom signed with different organizations. In the case of Jansen and Melancon, each pitcher reportedly accepted less money than what was offered by Washington.
