MILWAUKEE -- Two days after he was acquired for minor league right-hander Akeel Morris, the New York Mets welcome Kelly Johnson back on Friday. Johnson is due to be activated for the 8:10 p.m. ET game against the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park.
Because Morris was on the 40-man roster, the Mets will not need to free any space for Johnson. They nonetheless will have to open a spot on the major league roster. Matt Reynolds would appear the most likely to be ticketed for Triple-A Las Vegas, with Ty Kelly seemingly the alternative.
