1) Rafael Montero pitched 8 1/3 innings, allowing three hits and four walks while striking out eight. Joey Votto's one-out double in the fourth inning marked the only hit the Reds had against Montero until one out in the ninth when Phillip Ervin lined a single to center and Zack Cozart smacked a double to left.
2) After the Mets walked Votto intentionally with one out in the ninth, AJ Ramos entered with the bases loaded, striking out Adam Duvall and Scooter Gennett to end the game.
