Minors 4.14.16: Knuckleballer Mickey Jannis takes no-hitter into seventh

SACRAMENTO at LAS VEGAS: Box

BINGHAMTON 12, ERIE 2: Knuckleballer Mickey Jannis carried a no-hit bid into the seventh inning in his season debut and the B-Mets backed him with 17 hits. Gustavo Nunez threaded a leadoff grounder past diving shortstop Niuman Romero in the seventh to scuttle the bid. Jannis completed that inning without further harm, but watched his shutout bid end when he surrendered a two-run homer to Jason Krizan in the eighth. Jannis allowed three hits and one walk in seven-plus innings.
