SAN FRANCISCO — Michael Cuddyer returned to the starting lineup earlier this week, but his left knee is still causing problems.
The Mets outfielder received a rest on Tuesday, a day after delivering two hits to finally have a semblance of comfort at the plate. Cuddyer returned to the starting lineup on Sunday after missing the previous four starts.
“Michael’s knee has been acting up,” manager Terry Collins said before the Mets lost, 3-0, to the Giants at AT&T Park. “I know he’s OK to play. I know he’s probably a little sore after playing on it for a couple of days.
