The Mets finally caught a break with an injury. Michael Cuddyer's sore knee will not require putting him on the 15-day disabled list.
Cuddyer, who took himself out of Tuesday's game after trying to play through the pain, had an MRI exam on his left knee. Though he couldn't relay the actual diagnosis, the left fielder said "strain" best describes it. He received a cortisone injection and an injection of joint lubricant.
Cuddyer was not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs and was replaced by John Mayberry Jr. He will test the knee Thursday and didn't rule out playing.
