According to multiple sources, the Mets will be recalling Francisco Alvarez ahead of Monday’s game against the Angels. Alvarez, who was demoted on June 22nd after an extended slump following his return from a broken hamade bone, has been tearing it up for Triple-A Syracuse since his return, hitting 11 home runs in 19 games.
Over 23 total games for Syracuse this season (including rehab games earlier in the year), Alvarez is hitting .268/.366/.732. The power returned for Alvarez as soon as he was demoted, but the last week has seen his bad really take off with seven home runs in his last six games.
