The Mets continue their slew of roster moves, activating reliever Jose Butto from the 15-day IL. To make room, they option fellow reliever Justin Garza back to Triple-A Syracuse.
On July 4th, Butto was placed on the injured list due to an undisclosed illness, becoming the 13th Mets pitcher to be placed on the IL. Before his illness, he posted strong numbers for the Mets, owning a 2.47 ERA and 39 strikeouts over 43 innings of work. Going further back, over the past two years, Butto’s been a steady contributor, pitching to a 2.52 ERA in 117.
