Mets: The Flushing Power Company Overloads Chicago’s Grid

Saturday night’s energy for Game 1 of the NLCS at Citi Field was provided in large supply by the Flushing Power Company.

New York City’s local Consolidated Edison company was on scene merely as a precautionary back up in the event of unforeseen service disruptions. Thankfully, and to some degree of relief, everything worked out according to plan.

Dare I say, the system worked beautifully.

In fact, the Mets battery of Matt Harvey and Travis d’Arnaud generated more voltage than Chicago’s grid could handle.

Once Harvey switched on the generators, there was little insulating the opposition.
