Mets swear we haven’t seen the last of Jose Reyes

Jose Reyes wasn’t in the lineup against Miami right-hander Elieser Hernandez and he’s mired in a 2-for-22 slide as he struggles in his bench role.

Asked if Reyes’ roster spot might be in jeopardy because of that lack of production, Mickey Callaway said before the Mets beat the Marlins 2-0 at Citi Field. “That’s probably not my decision to make.”

But the manager added he believed Reyes still could provide some value.

“We signed Reyes to do a job and we have to continue to put him out there and allow him the chance to do that job,’’ Callaway said.
