PHOENIX -- For days, if not weeks, Mets manager Mickey Callaway has spoken about how he felt the Mets were one pitch, one lucky break away from putting their offensive woes behind them. It seemed mostly like manager-speak, the types of things Callaway had to say. Statistics told a different story, of a lineup still very much searching for answers.
Perhaps there was something to Callaway's optimism. Stymied for much of Sunday, the Mets scored a 5-3 victory over the D-backs at Chase Field when Brandon Nimmo hit a go-ahead, two-run homer off Brad Boxberger in the ninth, and Asdrubal Cabrera followed with a solo shot.
