Late Saturday, a report from Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press lit a new fire on the Bartolo Colon back to the Mets rumors we had been hearing about since December. Berardino quoted Minnesota Twins pitcher Ervin Santana as having talked to Colon about coming back for the 2018 season. Apparently Colon told him the Mets have had some interest in a reunion with the soon-to-be 45-year-old pitcher this season.
“He just wants to win six more games and then he will retire,” Santana said.
After an absolutely abysmal 2017 campaign, Colon’s offers are probably few and far between.
