Mets sign Trayce Thompson to minor league deal

The Mets have signed outfielder Trayce Thompson to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training, according to SNY’s Andy Martino.

Thompson is entering his age-33 season in 2024, and he’s coming off a year that saw him hit .163/.285/.294 with six home runs and a 65 wRC+ in 179 plate appearances with the Dodgers and White Sox. The best season of his career undoubtedly came in 2022, as the right-handed hitter put up a .256/.353/.507 line with 13 home runs and a 143 wRC+ in 255 plate appearances in a very brief stint with the Padres and a much longer one with the Dodgers.
