The Mets have signed RHP Stolmy Pimentel to a minor league deal that includes an invite to major league Spring Training, the team announced on Tuesday.
Pimentel, 25, posted a 3.97 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 11.1 innings (eight appearances) with the Rangers this past season.
Pimentel spent the majority of the 2015 season with Triple-A Round Rock, where he had a 5.40 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in 71.2 innings (12 starts, five relief appearances).
In 2014 for the Pirates, Pimentel posted a 5.23 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 32.2 innings of relief while striking out 10.
